communicode realizes "Light Shop" for OSRAM Opto Semiconductors - 24 hour shopping worldwide
With immediate effect, customers of OSRAM Opto Semiconductors will be able to order smaller quantities directly by means of an online catalogue. Products in smaller quantities, which are purchased from external service providers, will in future be equipped with a practical "Buy here" button. This function enables OSRAM Opto Semiconductors to coordinate in particular smaller and medium-sized quantities, such as sample orders. By clicking on the order button, the customer will be provided at a glance with the available quantity of the required article as well as with all essential information about respective providers. If a customer selects a particular service provider, he will be directly forwarded to the product range of the respective company where he can complete his order. Thereby the "Light Shop" provides OSRAM Opto Semiconductors with the option to outsource orders to external providers, enabling OSRAM to save processing costs.
The ASIM component ASIM InstantWeb by communicode guarantees that the entire ordering process runs smoothly. To enable the display of the availability of individual distributors in the shop, all product information submitted by the external service providers will be integrated into the online catalogue by automated process. All associated service providers forward their product information to OSRAM Opto Semiconductors in CSV or XML format.
