pciFile.org - The Online Forum for Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard is Launched
pciFile.org is becoming the most active web forum for discussing the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard with people who have passed Visa’s auditor certification process.
This free service primarily serves Visa certified auditors, known as "Qualified Data Security Professionals" (QDSP), but welcomes posts from security professionals who help merchants and service providers comply with this new security standard.
"Much of the discussion is focused on "compensating controls" and the intent of various sub-requirements in the standard," says Gary Glover, a QDSP living in Utah.
pciFile is co-moderated by Mike Dahn, the primary author and instructor of Visa’s QDSP certification program. Sharing the task is David Shackleford, who also leads The SANS Institute’s class on PCI compliance.
The PCI Data Security Standard, endorsed by VISA, MasterCard® International, Discover® Card, JCB® and American Express®, requires merchants and service providers that store, process or transmit customer credit card data to adopt aggressive security controls and processes. 09.05.2006, Ken Adler, PCIFILE
