Marketworks, a multi-channel ecommerce software solutions provider, today released its enhanced ecommerce management platform, which includes a streamlined checkout system as well as support for both eBay Express and Google Checkout.

Streamlined Checkout System

The new streamlined checkout system from Marketworks has simplified the process of checking out to two mouse clicks for the buyer: one to confirm the order and another to submit the buyer’s shipping and billing information, which is pre-populated if the buyer has purchased from the merchant or eBay before. In addition, the new checkout system offers Marketworks’ customers an upgraded, well-organized settings page that makes it easy to configure and customize a storefront’s checkout system.

"Our new checkout system is simply one more tool from Marketworks designed to help our customers provide the best purchasing experience for their buyers,” said Ken Powell, chief executive officer, Marketworks. "Industry publications report that up to 70 percent of all checkouts are abandoned once the process begins. Our ecommerce engine and streamlined checkout will greatly reduce buyer abandonment for sellers using Marketworks. This new checkout system is the most robust, yet simple, checkout option for ecommerce storefronts available in the marketplace today.”

With this release, any transaction as a result of an eBay listing will now default buyer information from eBay so that a buyer’s information is pre-populated and he/she can simply review their shopping cart to confirm their order, further reducing checkout time. Unlike other eBay software solutions providers, Marketworks offers its merchants the ability to present their buyers with a single checkout page, rather than a series of pages.

Support for Additional Selling Channels

The Marketworks release also contains support for eBay Express and Google Checkout.

Now, when a buyer purchases items through eBay Express, the order notification sent from eBay will integrate directly into the Marketworks’ customer’s ecommerce ordering system, automating order processing and fulfillment and automatically updating inventory records.

With full support of Google Checkout, Marketworks’ customers are now able to add an additional checkout option to their Marketworks hosted Web store and take full advantage of the Google AdWords promotions.

"It is Marketworks’ mission to connect online sellers with online buyers,” said Powell. "Our support of eBay Express and Google Checkout expand the opportunities our ecommerce sellers have for attracting new customers. Marketworks continues to focus on being the world’s best at presenting our customers’ products to buyers, facilitating the attraction, interaction and ultimately the transaction of goods online.”
