Intershop Customer Widex Migrates to Enfinity Suite 6

Widex, a manufacturer of hearing aids, is upgrading its e-commerce operations to the latest Intershop software. The decision to migrate to the Enfinity Suite 6 Content Channel allows Widex to optimize its offerings for dealers, who can place orders for the extensive product range online. The introduction of the new software at Widex was now completed. The two companies also signed a support agreement.
Danish hearing aid manufacturer Widex was the first company to launch a digital hearing aid, back in 1996. Headquartered in Copenhagen, Widex markets its products worldwide via a network of 90 sales offices. The Internet portal, powered since April 2002 by the Enfinity Content Management solution, is aimed primarily at Widex sales partners. Intershop's solution allows automation and harmonization of enterprise-wide B2B processes, while also providing local information via a central interface.
"Our decision to deploy Intershop's packaged Enfinity Suite 6 software was based on our experience in using the Intershop Content Management solution over a number of years. Given the global nature of our sales organization, the Internet is the fastest and most cost-effective way to provide everyone with information about new products. Enfinity Suite 6 can manage the entire e-commerce system centrally and integrate the e-commerce info into content management system," says Carsten Lundberg, project manager at Widex.
Ludger Vogt, Vice President Services at Intershop: "Enfinity Suite 6 is a packaged software product that enables centralized management of all sales and procurement activity, ensuring a consistent corporate image with minimum effort. This is particularly relevant for businesses with distributed locations, which benefit from the ability to incorporate different language versions and varying product offerings."15.08.2006, Intershop Communications AG
