Arizona-based company to also create AspDotNetStorefront eCommerce solution for DotNetNuke portals.

DotNetNuke Corporation, creator and maintainer of the DotNetNuke® Web Application Framework, has selected AspDotNetStorefront.com’s eCommerce shopping cart platform for its upcoming "DotNetNuke Marketplace," an online store for commercial modules, skins and DotNetNuke-related products.

"We evaluated many free and commercial eCommerce offerings before making our choice," said Shaun Walker, founder of DotNetNuke Corp. "AspDotNetStorefront gives us great flexibility and a broad range of capabilities to create a high-quality marketplace that will cater to the needs of the DotNetNuke community."

The company’s willingness to develop a DotNetNuke-specific version of its eCommerce platform was an important consideration in the selection process. "We appreciate AspDotNetStorefront’s support for the Marketplace project and look forward to future collaboration opportunities as the company extends its products to work on the DotNetNuke platform," Walker said.

Recognizing the importance of the DotNetNuke Marketplace project, Robert Anderson, CEO of AspDotNetStorefront, welcomed the opportunity this presents for his company.

"DotNetNuke is a true pioneer in the Open Source ASP.net market, leading the way technologically with a great platform for ASP.net developers to leverage and deploy quality production sites with minimal time and cost," said Anderson. "We are pleased to be working very closely with the DotNetNuke Marketplace implementation team to roll out the premier eCommerce store for commercial DotNetNuke products based on our industry leading AspDotNetStorefront shopping cart platform."

Additionally, Anderson said his company has already commenced development on a version of AspDotNetStorefront for DotNetNuke portals.

"This will give us the ability to reach a very large market of ASP.net developers who create DotNetNuke-based sites for clients, but who also need eCommerce to be an integral capability of those sites," Anderson said. A release date for the product has not been set.
