Edit-X expands its market with ecomerce solutions
Edit-X, Inc., provider of content management for small to medium sized businesses, announced the release of Edit-X 2004 Pro+Ecom- the latest version of its popular e-commerce shopping cart.
Since its inception in 2000, Edit-X has continuously refined Edit-X 2004 Pro Platform. This latest edition of Edit-X 2004 Pro Platform represents the result of four years of real world application and user feedback.
Edit-X 2004 Pro+Ecom includes all of the features offered within Edit-X 2004 Pro Platform, as well as many new features designed to help Edit-X’s existing clientele and new users expand their businesses. New companion programs allow Edit-X 2004 Pro+Ecom merchants to link to other applications, such as QuickBooks and UPS Worldship. The added ability to log orders in any format allow merchants to import their orders into other accounting applications, point of sale software, and fulfillment services. This capability within Edit-X 2004 Pro+Ecom will allow merchants to further automate the day-to-day processes of maintaining an e-commerce site.
Designed with the needs of small and medium sized business owners in mind, Edit-X 2004 Pro+Ecom is a complete e-commerce solution-rather than an e-commerce add-on or development tool that requires custom coding. Just as before, all of Edit-X's great features are still built into the price of the shopping cart, which makes Edit-X 2004 Pro+Ecom a unique value among other products on the market.
Edit-X 2004 Pro+Ecom offers a number of security features including SSL compatibility that allows for 128-bit order processing encryption, as well as password encryption, automatic encryption of sensitive data in configuration files and the option to exclude payment data from the order log and email notifications. As is the case with all Edit-X products, Edit-X 2004 Pro+Ecom is also compatible with common text editors such as Microsoft Word which makes building product layouts a breeze.
Additional new features include UPS OnLine(R) Tools Address Validation and Ship API tools. Address validation will verify the city, state, and zip code entered by the customer to avoid confusion when generating your manifests. The Ship API will allow EDIT-X merchants to generate UPS manifests and ship labels from directly within their EDIT-X product's administration panel. HTML based e-mail notifications, new import and export options for maintaining products, order logs, a fraud IP blacklist, minimum/maximum quantity per product, new version notifications within the administrative panel, and percentage discounts that include option pricing are also included in Edit-X 2004 Pro+Ecom.
Edit-X 2004 Pro+Ecom also includes the core Edit-X 2004 Pro Platform features-including easy installation and set up; a web-browser administrator interface; affiliate tracking; inventory tracking; Microsoft FrontPage®, Macromedia Dreamweaver®, Macromedia Dreamweaver Ultradev®, and NetObjects Fusion® web development components; and compatibility with UPS OnLine® Tools.
