Before you send your next invoice, make sure you are not wasting time or money. Small businesses have begun to recognize the cost savings afforded by online billing thanks to 2ndSite Inc.’s free online billing service.

Years ago it was predicted that online billing would take the market by storm, but the truth is that businesses and consumers alike were not ready to do their business online. Over the past four years that has gradually changed and online payment is finally achieving mainstream acceptance. According to 2ndSite CEO Michael McDerment, "There is no turning back once you start invoicing online. The cost savings and business process efficiencies are unparalleled, which is really no surprise considering traditional invoicing - sending invoices by snail mail - pre-dates electricity."

The service was in development stages for over 2 1/2 years, headed by Joe Sawada, PhD Computer Science. Since it was officially released in May 2004, the service has earned over 3000 new users who have generated over $3,000,000 in invoices in over 27 countries.

The success of 2ndSite's application is rooted in its quick setup, no cost, no risk to the end user business model. A freelance journalist, for example, could send all her invoices online at no cost, while a small business with 40-250 clients pays a monthly fee of $20.00. Setup takes seconds, not minutes or hours, and the application itself runs quickly thanks to proprietary, patent pending technology.

2ndSite is the first Application Service Provider (ASP) to offer a complete level of customization to its users. Using 2ndSite businesses can completely transform their account to look exactly like their website. This is a marketplace first and ideal for small businesses that often leverage their uniqueness as a competitive advantage.

Seamless branding usually costs tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars because the only way to achieve it is to build proprietary software. 2ndSite gives businesses seamless branding without the high price tag, and businesses are appreciative. "Everyday we receive glowing feedback about our support and our easy to use application," says Levi Cooperman, VP of Support and Integration. "And more and more we are helping businesses transition from snail mail to online invoicing."
