SurfStats Software announced the addition of Click Fraud Detection and Reporting Capabilities to its SurfStats Log Analyzer Professional and Enterprise Edition and also its SurfStatsLive Enterprise Reporting Server.

Click Fraud is the practice of clicking on an advertisement served by a search engine for the sole purpose of forcing the advertiser to pay for the click. Your competitors can do this to deplete your marketing budget or advertising affiliates can do this to increase their Pay per Click revenue. Clicks can be automated (done by software robots) or manually by low cost workers.

Fraudulent clicks can now be detected from raw server log files with the latest additions in the products from SurfStats. Says CEO Johan Calitz: "These new capabilities provide website owners with an easy way to identify Click Fraud even if it happened in the past. It provides them with detailed reports on all suspicious activity. The reports contain the IP Addresses, search keywords and Geographic location of suspicious clicks. These reports can then be used to present the website owner’s case to Online Advertisers for refunds."

Free, fully functional 30-day demonstration versions of the software are available for download from the corporate web site at http://www.surfstats.com
